Our programs support women throughout their entire recovery with psychological support, medical information, medical self-advocacy education, stress management, and resilience building.
The International Stress Management Program was created by Sheryl Martin and Dr. Angela Cassola, PhD in Health & Prevention. Sheryl has a background in Psychology, Research, and Medical. The program's foundation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and covers the physiological, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral ramifications of stress. Additionally, we discuss making lifestyle changes, writing an action plan for optimal recovery, a fun resiliency building exercise in art, and medical self-advocacy. The format is interactive, with patients able to share the challenges of experiencing a cardiac event and recovery.
Cardiovascular referrals encouraged! Over 500 patients have participated in Her Heart Sounds programs with a satisfaction rate of 92% based on post-program surveys.
The Stress Management Program on Zoom is eight-weeks one hour a week. The sessions are offered on Thursdays at 12 pm MDT or you may choose 6 pm MDT.
The program for SCAD patients is on Tuesdays at 12 pm MDT or 6 pm MDT.
Please email Sheryl Martin at sherylmartin@herheartsounds.org for more information or to register. $20 program fee can be waived at your request.

Please contact us if you need cardiac condition information, assistance with medical advocacy including medical record review, psychological support and referrals. We schedule a zoom meeting, phone call, or can meet with you in person if you reside in Colorado to support you and to create an action plan for optimal recovery. This service is free and available to women who have experienced cardiac events, and for men who have experienced SCAD.
The one-year program goal is to reduce recurrence and readmission rates with improved patient satisfaction of treatment and care. The program is comprehensive and will provide support and strategies for best medical practices.
Please consider donating to support this important program to assist women with recovery after cardiac events and surgeries.
